Best things to do in and in the surrounding areas of Port de Soller, Mallorca
Take the tram from Port de Soller to Soller
Known as the ‘best excursion in Mallorca’ the old wooden tram dating back to 1912 takes you
through the beautiful scenery of the Sierra Norte de Mallorca. You can catch the tram either from Soller or Port de Soller and in Soller you can transfer to a train which takes you through the mountains and into Palma, Mallorca
The tram costs 9 euros per person each way and you can purchase tickets on board using either cash or card. You can buy a combined train and tram ticket for 35 euros per person
Hike from Soller through Fornalutx and Biniaraix and back
This hike starts from Soller and travels through the beautiful town of Fornalutx, through Biniaraix and back. It is a circular loop and takes around 2 hours to complete. The terrain is manageable for most abilities but it is not accessible or pram-friendly so ensure you take children in a carrier. Fornalutx is extremely beautiful so make sure you stop here to have a look around and a quick coffee/beer break

Walk along the promenade and stop at one of the many sea front bars for a drink
Port de Soller is in a bay and the promenade is beautiful to walk around and is accessible and pram-friendly. Soak in the sights of the sunrise, sunsets, boats and harbour and stop at one of the many seafront bars for a drink and a bite to eat. We recommend Davant La Mar at Hotel Esplendido
Walk up to Torre Picada watertower
In less than half of hour you can walk from Port de Soller through luscious greenery, past olive trees and through pine forest to reach the foot of Torre Picada. The tower was constructed as a lookout point following multiple pirate attacks on Port de Soller
You cannot access the interior of the tower but the views of the mountains, bay and coastline make the walk worthwhile
Take a day trip to Deia and Valldemossa
The popular towns of Deia and Valldemossa are located a 40 minute drive from Port de Soller. If you have rented a car this is the perfect way to spend a day of your holiday exploring more of the beauty Mallorca has to offer
